About Lutheran Family Services
With three regional offices along the Front Range, Lutheran Family Services is one of the largest private foster care providers in the state, serving 460 children through 213 foster homes in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007. As a private nonprofit organization, Lutheran Family Services relies on private donors, grants and special event sponsorships to provide money for the extra-special needs of the children in our care.
LFS also provides services in the areas of domestic and international adoption, geriatric care management and caregiver support disaster response, legal immigration services, refugee & asylee resettlement, crisis pregnancy counseling, parenting education and support and teen pregnancy prevention, serving a total of more than 16,000 people each year. Lutheran Family Services serves all people without regard to race, religion, creed, culture, gender, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, military/veteran status or economic status and has been extending a hand to vulnerable children and families in Colorado since 1948. Our skillful and compassionate staff, foster parents and volunteers collaborate with a host of congregations, municipalities, foundations, state and county Human Service departments, multiple United Way agencies and other human service and other human service providers, to "walk with the vulnerable through services that heal, strengthen, and provide hope."
