Pregnancy Counseling

Services Offered

  1. Counseling: Confidential counseling is available at no cost to persons experiencing an unintended pregnancy. This counseling is available to the mother, the father, and their families during the pregnancy and for up to six months following delivery. Clients and their families are supported in exploring their feelings about the pregnancy, telling significant others, and in examining their options.
  2. Parenting Support: Many of our clients choose the option of parenting their baby. LFS provides support to those who decide to parent by assisting them in creating a well-thought out parenting plan. Counselors at LFS help expectant parents prepare for the birth of the child, learn about caring for an infant, secure needed housing and arrange for child care. Many resources in the community are also available for single, young or first-time parents. We are dedicated to assisting our clients in becoming as successful as possible in their new parenting roles.
  3. Open Adoption: Some parents choose to plan an adoption for their child. Lutheran Family Services honors open adoption and believes in all of the possibilities that it provides. If you decide that adoption is best for you and your child, your counselor will be there to provide support and assistance every step of the way.
