Supportive Parenting Groups
The Fostering Family Strengths program offers the Nurturing Parenting© series. FFS facilitators are certified in this nationally acclaimed and effective program. In this program we focus on:
- Learning successful ways to discipline children without shouting or spanking
- Developing empathy for one's children
- Understanding the motivation behind a child's behavior
- Learning about developmental stages, appropriate family expectations and roles.
Our groups meet weekly, and range from 6 to 16 weeks in duration. Several of our groups have a fun children's commponent offered at the same time as the parents group. In the special children's curriculum, kids participate in fun activities that give them skills to contribute to a nurturing family atmosphere.
