Lutheran Family Services of Colorado, formerly known as Lutheran Service Society, is the second oldest adoption agency in Colorado, completing its first placement in 1951. Lutheran Family Services provides birth parents, adult adoptees and adoptive parents with non-identifying information from their closed adoption files. In addition, Lutheran Family Services receives from time to time updated medical information, letters and/or pictures from adoptive parents, adoptees, and birth parents that are intended for a particular sought-after member of their adoption triad. Whenever possible, the agency will forward these letters and pictures as requested, as long as they do not contain any identifying information.
