Details: A support group for those providing care to an older friend, relative or loved one. Find resources and answers to questions on important subjects: Relieving strees, grief support, nursing homes, assisted living, Alzheimer's and dementia, chronic diseases, senior activities and organizations, interacting with family members, Social Security, legal/financial issues and services, senior housing, general health and daily care.

World Refugee Day

The United Nations General Assembly in 2001 designated JUNE 20 as World RefugeeDay to recognize and celebrate the contribution of refugees throughout the world. Since then, World Refugee Day has become an annual commemoration marked by a variety of events in over a hundred countries. LFS of Colorado Refugee & Asylee Programs celebrates this day each year with food and entertainment. This year LFS celebrated in Denver and in Colorado Springs for an evening of food and music in celebration of the strength, and determination of the courageous men, women and children that are working to build a new life here in the U.S.  This included a ceremony for those becoming citizens.

This is one of the newer events hosted by our agency. It offers us the unique opportunity to celebrate a day of fun with our donor and client families.

  • Classic American Grill with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Garden Burgers, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Traditional Baked Beans, Potato Chips, Assorted Cookies and Soft Drinks.
  • The thrill of experiencing all the Zoo animals
  • Old Fashioned Carousel and Train
  • Face Painting and Street Performers

The Heart Club Reception: HeartStrings Family Fun

The Heart Club is our leadership donor giving group. ($500 and above each year). Each year we host an appreciation event for these donors. It is usually an elegant reception at a unique location. The setting is warm and intimate and includes appetizers, beverages and time to socialize with the CEO and other LFS staff. Attendees are briefed on accomplishments in the past year, as well as on new initiatives in serving vulnerable populations in our communities. Heart Club Members will receive invitations.
