Jim Barclay, President/CEO

Jim Barclay began working at LFS in 2001. Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s in Social Work from Michigan State University. Jim has over 35 years experience in the human care field, primarily in executive management. Prior to LFS, Jim was the CEO of Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota. Jim’s areas of expertise include: board development, capital and annual campaigns, foundations, special events, planned giving, major gifts and advocacy.

Heidi Hendricks, Vice President of Programs

Heidi Hendricks joined LFS in 2007. Heidi earned her Bachelor’s degree from Colorado College and her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Denver Seminary. Heidi is a licensed professional counselor and has 25 years experience in child welfare, including residential, foster care and adoption. Heidi currently oversees all of LFS programs.

Kate Kelsay, Vice President of Finance

Kate Kelsay began working for LFS in 2004. Kate earned her Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College and her Master’s in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. With 26 years of experience in accounting, Kate now leads the LFS Finance and IT departments. She is also a board member of the Lutheran Financial Managers Association.

Jane Pope Meehan, Vice President Resource Development

Jane Pope Meehan began working for LFS in 1996. Jane earned her Bachelor’s degree at Kansas State and her Master’s in Training & Adult Education from the University of Houston. Jane oversees the Development team at LFS, encompassing: donor cultivation and solicitation, special events, planned giving and marketing and communication strategies.

James Horan, Vice President Refugee and Community Services

James began working for LFS in 1999. James oversees the Refugee & Asylee, Immigration Legal Services and Disaster Response programs, with offices in six communities throughout Colorado and Wyoming and providing services to clients in three states. Previously James served as an English instructor, employment specialist and program director. James has been a Board of Immigration Appeals accredited representative since 2005 and has acted as a consultant for refugee resettlement, employment and self-sufficiency in a number of states.
